Visitor arrivals to Bali continued to rise in the opening months of 2015.
According to the latest official data, reported by BaliDiscovery.com, the Indonesian island welcomed a total of 637,217 international visitors in January and February 2015, 14.8% more than in the same period last year.
Australia continued to be Bali’s largest visitor source market, accounting for 156,424 arrivals in the first two months of 2015, up 16.8% year-on-year. But China is catching up; boosted by the Lunar New Year holidays, 145,749 Chinese tourists travelled to Bali in January and February 2015, up 33.7% year-on-year.
Japan (+32.3% to 40,596), South Korea (+17.4% to 28,523) and Malaysia (-15.8% to 28,266) completed the top five, while the UK (+25.3% to 18,620) was Bali’s largest long-haul visitor source market. Russian arrivals however, slumped 42.4% to 10,070.
