Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts has debuted in Shanghai with the launch of an urban resort on the banks of the Huangpu River.

Banyan Tree Shanghai on the Bund becomes the first hotel in the city to offer river views from each of its 130 rooms. Accommodation types include the Oasis Rooms with private dipping pools and the Banyan Suite which offers its own swimming pool – another unique selling point in Shanghai.

“Following the success of our Group’s three other urban resorts – in Bangkok, Macau and Seoul – Banyan Tree Shanghai on the Bund capitalises on our core brand value of rejuvenation and offers a sanctuary for the senses within the context of Shanghai’s vast urban cityscape. Business and leisure travellers may take advantage of our many amenities and facilities, such as an award-winning spa, a multitude of dining venues and various meeting spaces, during their visit to what is one of China’s most dynamic urban environments,” said the hotel’s GM, Pancho Llamas.

The hotel’s four food and beverage outlets include a Western seafood outlet, a Chinese restaurant, Japanese sashimi and sushi counter and an alfresco rooftop bar, also with views of Huangpu.

Other facilities include a three-level Banyan Tree Spa with 11 treatment rooms, a beauty salon and nail bar.
