Barrhead Travel has revealed it expects to carry more than 12,000 passengers from Glasgow Airport this year as part of its extended charter programme.
The travel agency helped Glasgow Airport launch its new 2015 routes at an in-store event last week, which includes its own chartered services to Malaga, Majorca, Barcelona and Venice.
The flights will be operated by British Airways aircraft.
Barrhead customers, members of the travel industry and businesses from Scotland gathered at the Luxury Lifestyle Holidays store in Glasgow to hear about the new routes alongside other news from Glasgow Airport.
“We have enjoyed a very successful relationship with Glasgow Airport for many years and we continue to work together on a number of different projects,” said Barrhead’s chief executive Sharon Munro. “Running this event together demonstrates that we’re growing and developing our relationship even further and supporting the airport in everything it has planned for 2015.”
As well as the new Barrhead routes the airport is also adding several new destinations this year including Bordeaux, Bournemouth, Bydgoszcz, Carcassonne, Chania, Derry, Dubrovnik, Halifax, Katowice, Las Vegas, Marrakech, Munich, Poznan, Prague, Riga, Warsaw Modlin and Wroclaw.
The airport’s marketing manager Steven Marshall said: “We’re working closely with Barrhead Travel and we’re delighted that they helped us to unveil our planner for the year ahead.”
