BCD Group, the Chicago-based corporate travel giant, has merged its two units, BCD M&I and BCD Travel Groups.

The new entity, to be known as BCD Meetings & Events, will now encompass 700 employees in more than 40 countries. Former BCD M&I global president, Scott Graf, will now head up the new organisation.

“The time was right to integrate these two operational units,” Graf said. “While we found great success in meeting market needs with separate meetings and group travel organisations, the new configuration positions us better for future growth and scalability.

“The meetings and events business is booming around the world, and our shareholder is committed to seeking out investment opportunities in the meetings and events space. The new brand positions us for growth,” he added.

BCD M&I provided global meeting and event management solutions, while BCD Travel Groups specialised in in-country services for meetings, incentives, events and group travel.

BCD Meetings & Events will now operate under the BCD Group umbrella along with the company’s main corporate travel business, BCD Travel.
