The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has given green light to Andhra Pradesh’s proposal to build a new hangar at the
Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad.
The Andhra Pradesh Aviation Corporation Limited (APACL) received the letter from AAI, saying permission was granted to the state government to construct a hangar on their land at the Begumpet airport premises. “The AAI has allotted 8,880 square meters at a cost of INR1 per square meter for a period of 30 years on lease basis,” a senior APACL official told the Times of India.
“They are planning a four-storeyed hangar designed to park a helicopter, aircraft, APACL administration office, a VIP lounge, a mini conference hall, pilot operations room, maintenance room (workshop) and a store room for spare parts,” the official said.
