Beirut passenger traffic down 7% for Feb

The number of passengers at Rafik Hariri International Airport declined seven percent in February 2014 compared with 2013, stated the general directorate of Civil Aviation.
“The number of passengers in February 2014 dropped to 376,106 compared to 403,968 passengers in February 2013,” it said.
Number of incoming passengers declined by 6.06%, reaching 180,375, while number of outbound passengers dropped by 7.62% to reach 194,465. The number of transit flight passengers decreased by 12.75% to 1266.
Flights dropped by 15.96% despite increase in number of incoming commercial flights by 1.21% and number of outgoing commercial flights by 0.21% as number of transit flights witnessed a remarkable drop of 93.56%. Private jet flights also dropped 10.44%, while private jet transit flights decreased by 70.54% from 112 in February 2013 to 33 this year.
