Best Western brings new brand to New Zealand

Best Western has added a new hotel brand in New Zealand, with the launch of a property in Christchurch.
The Fino Hotel & Suites reopened in July 2016 following a NZ$15 million (US$10.7m) post-earthquake renovation. It has now been rebranded as the Best Western Plus Fino Hotel & Suites, marking the entry of the upper-midscale “Plus” brand into New Zealand.
“We wanted to partner with a global powerhouse that can help us build our corporate business base,” explained the hotel’s general manager, Dilan De Silva. “Best Western has a strong corporate presence supported by an excellent loyalty program, which appealed to us, and we had no hesitation in joining the network.”
Best Western Australasia’s head of commercial, Steve Richards, said the hotel was a key addition to the company’s portfolio.
“Best Western Plus Fino Hotel & Suites is a high-quality property and, as the first in New Zealand to be given Best Western Plus branding, represents another important step forward in the modernisation of the Best Western network in Australasia,” Richards said.
Once known for its roadside motels, Best Western now has a portfolio of 150 properties across Australia, New Zealand the South Pacific. Best Western Plus Fino Hotel & Suites becomes the company’s first property in Christchurch.
