Best Western has expanded its portfolio in Malaysia with the signing of its first hotel in Kuching.
The new-build Best Western Plus Kuching is scheduled to welcome its first guests in 2018, providing a new midscale option for travellers to the city.
Upon completion, the hotel will offer 200 rooms and suites, all equipped with flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. Facilities will include a restaurant, swimming pool and meeting space.
“Kuching has been growing in stature for several years now, and is becoming a key part of the East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA). Having hosted several key regional events, such as the ASEAN Tourism Forum and Routes Asia, Kuching is now firmly on the map for both leisure and business travel,” said Olivier Berrivin, Best Western’s managing director of international operations for Asia
“As such, it was important that Best Western established a presence in this fast-growing emerging market. And I am thrilled that we have been able to achieve this with a brand new Best Western Plus hotel.
“This exciting project will showcase the 21st Century vision of Best Western Hotels & Resorts, to provide modern, well-connected and value-for-money accommodation in the key Asian destinations. Best Western provides exemplary service to our guests and I have no doubt that the Best Western Plus Kuching will become very popular with travelers,” he concluded.
Best Western currently operates three hotels in Malaysia, located in Shah Alam, Petalingjaya and Ipoh.
