Best Western unveils eco-resort in Ipoh

Best Western has unveiled a new luxury eco-resort in Malaysia.

Located in Perak state, on the Malay Peninsula, the Best Western Premier The Haven, Ipoh, offers 100 rooms and suites.

It will also feature an extensive range of leisure facilities, including a four-level lagoon-style swimming pool, tropical gardens, a jogging track, barbecue and picnic areas, a gymnasium, badminton and tennis courts, a children’s playground, café and restaurant. And like all Best Western hotels worldwide, it will provide guests will complimentary Wi-Fi.

The new resort is also designed to be environmentally-friendly, using 100% renewable energy, including wind and solar power. It also harvests rainwater to be used elsewhere in the property.

“We are delighted to have been entrusted with the running of this stunning, environmentally-friendly resort,” said Glenn de Souza, Best Western’s vice president of international operations for Asia & Middle East.

“Best Western Premier The Haven, Ipoh, really does offer what its name suggests: a blissful haven of peace and tranquility set among the ancient jungles of Ipoh. Guests can indulge in a vast range of leisure pursuits, including jogging, walking and racket sports, or simply relax and unwind in the resort’s stunning swimming pools.

“And the resort’s excellent energy-saving initiatives mean guests will have peace of mind, knowing their stay is in balance and harmony with the surrounding environment,” de Souza added.

Best Western Premier The Haven, Ipoh, will become Best Western’s fourth hotel in Malaysia, following existing properties in Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan.

But the company is planning a major expansion across the country in the coming months and years, with new hotels scheduled to open in Melaka, Port Klang, Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya and the Genting Highlands, as well as two more properties in KL.
