Biman Bangladesh Airlines has taken delivery of a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft, as part of the national carrier’s fleet modernisation plan.
The new single-aisle jet, which marks the first aircraft Biman has purchased directly from Boeing, comes equipped with 162 seats in two classes.
“We are extremely satisfied with the… 737-800, which has earned a worldwide reputation for its reliability and operational efficiency,” said Kyle Haywood, Biman’s managing director & CEO. “Biman Bangladesh is on target to expand and modernise its fleet as well as offer our passengers a superior onboard experience.”
As part of the first phase of its fleet modernisation plan, the Dhaka-based airline currently operates a total of six B777s and two B737-800s. It also plans to take delivery of one more B737-800 and four B787 Dreamliners in future.
