Boeing has delivered its first two Dreamliner private jets of 2014.

The two BBJ (Boeing Business Jet) 787-8s were delivered last week to two separate unnamed customers. They become only the second and third BBJ 787 aircraft ever delivered.

“It’s terrific to see two BBJ 787s deliver within a week,” said Captain Steve Taylor, president of Boeing Business Jets. “The 787’s combination of phenomenal range, high cruise speed, low cabin altitude, big windows and ultra-quiet cabin make the 787 ideal for BBJ customers.”

The Dreamliner private jet has a range of 17,150km and can come fitted with custom-made interiors, designed by external companies. While the customers of the latest BBJ 787s have not been revealed, clients commonly include governments and heads of state.

Boeing will deliver three more BBJ 787s in 2014, while the first ever BBJ 747-8, which was delivered last year, will enter also enter service this year following the completion of its interior design.
Currently more than 400 BBJs operate around the world, but few of these are wide-body models like the BBJ 787 or 747-8.
