AIME, the Australian MICE event, is harnessing a new solution to help delegates generate more leads. The show will use Konduko, a new solution that “captures interactions and data instantly”. Konduko readers will be placed on exhibition stands, and visitors can tap their badge on these readers to give exhibitors instant access to their details and information about their business.
Canadian border service trials new lie detector
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is helping to test a solution that will help determine if travellers are lying about their reason for entering the country. The ‘Automated Virtual Agent for Truth Assessment in Real Time’ (AVATAR) system is a screen that asks travellers a series of questions, and then detects changes in their physiology and behaviour, to tell if they are lying.
STA Travel offers mobile medical consultations
STA, the UK-based youth travel specialist, is offering travellers the chance to consult a doctor by video from anywhere in the world. The partnership with Push Doctor will provide video GP consultations with UK-based doctors through insurance provider Allianz Global Assistance. Policy-holders will be able to access a GP in just six minutes from any mobile device.
Swiss-Belhotel trials mobile room keys
Swiss-Belhotel International is introducing mobile room key technology at its hotel in Auckland. Guests at the Swiss-Belsuites Victoria Park will now be able to lock and unlock their rooms using their smartphones. The technology integrates with the hotel’s PMS to generate a digital key for each room. This key is then sent to the guest’s smartphone, allowing the guest to access their room.
