AccorHotels has opened a new-build Mercure hotel in Singapore.
The new Mercure Singapore Bugis is located next to the Bugis+ shopping centre, five minutes’ walk from Bugis MRT station. It is easily recognisable due to its red, blue, yellow and green exterior panels, which are designed to resemble those on a nearby housing estate.
The double-height lobby includes a seating area with sofas, two iMac workstations and a six-seat table for informal meetings. There is also a lobby bar that serves drinks and tapas.
The hotel’s 395 rooms, lofts and suites are all adorned with images of Singapore and hardwood floors, and equipped with smartphones that offer local calls, unlimited free Wi-Fi, and international calls to 10 countries. The smartphone is also loaded with PressReader app which features thousands of online newspapers and magazines.
One key feature of the hotel is its rooftop ‘Sky Deck’, which offers views across the city, as does the seventh floor infinity pool. On level three, there are three meeting rooms and an outdoor terrace, located next to the hotel’s international restaurant.
This becomes the first Mercure in Singapore, although AccorHotels does already operate one Grand Mercure hotel in the city.
