Three British senior cabin crew are among those that have become trained butlers for Etihad Airways’ new The Residence cabin.

Richard Burrows from Manchester, Eren Wirizlay from Telford and Georgina Henderson from Southport have undertaken three weeks of training at The Savoy in preparation for the three-room cabin’s launch on its Airbus A380 in December.

A total of 13 cabin crew were trained by the hotel’s head butler Sean Davoren focused on etiquette, valet skills and concierge services and have also received training from the London School of Hospitality and Tourism.

Aubrey Tiedt, Etihad Airways’ vice president guest services said: “I am extremely proud of the team’s achievements and they all qualified with flying colours to become the world’s first ever butlers in the sky. They are really enthusiastic and cannot wait to board the A380 aircraft and put into practice all that they have learned.”

The first Etihad Airways A380 service will fly from Abu Dhabi to London on 27 December.
