Fifty Shades of Grey tops books left behind

Books from the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy have been the ones most left behind in Travelodge hotels, the chain has revealed. It seems the ‘cannot put down’ books can be ditched just as quickly, while other trilogies including the Millennium/The Girl With… series and The Hunger Games. The nine books across all three series made up the top nine of Travelodge’s most left-behind books, with Kathryn Stockett’s The Help completing the top 10. Steve Jobs’ biography came in at number 13, with Stephen Fry’s The Fry Chronicles at number 16 and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy at 20.

“It is interesting to see for the first time ever that our top ten books left behind index is not being dominated by celebrity biographies and chick lit books which it has done in the past,” said Shakila Ahmed from Travelodge.

 

Upside down plane up for sale

A man is trying to sell his damaged plane on online shopping site Craigslist using an image of it upside down after a crash. The US man, whose account is under Jim on the website, landed the plane at Furnace Creek airport in Death Valley, California and has used the image to try and gather up a £10,000 bid. His posting details how the plane ended up crashed and lists all the damages for potential buyers to consider, reported Orange News.

 

Cat travels to Disney in suitcase

Pets often stay at home for holidays but not Bob-bob from Ohio. The black cat stowed away in its owner’s suitcase and was discovered at hotel check-in when they reached Disney World in Florida, despite going through security at Port Columbus International Airport and a 10-hour journey. According to Mail Online the cat’s owner Ethel Maze went to the supermarket after finding her car in her bag when it came to unpacking. Naturally concerns have been raised over how the moggy was not seen at airport security.
