LEGOLAND offers sacked lifeguard a job

LEGOLAND Florida has offered ex-Hallandale Beach lifeguard Thomas Lopez a job after reading about his job dismissal. In an open letter to the lifeguard, the theme park offered Lopez a job at its new water park, as well as any of his colleagues who leave the company as a result of the sacking. Lopez was sacked from Hallandale Beach after he left his post to save a man from drowning. “Thomas, we find your efforts to be the work of a true model citizen [LEGOLAND calls its staff this based on its own models],” the open letter from general manager Adrian Jones read. “Your quick-thinking and life-saving skills demonstrated last week prove that you would be an excellent addition to our team”.

 ‘Poison pizzas’ banned in Switzerland

Pizzas topped with poisons from spiders, scorpions and snakes have been banned by  health officials in Switzerland. Orange News reported that a Zurich restaurant trialled  using small amounts of poisons from homeopathic remedies as unusual replacements  for the standard pepperoni and mozzarella. Chef Ismail Ertekin claimed the toppings  were harmless.

“Preservatives in foods are much more damaging than my poison pizzas,” he insisted.  “They were really popular, especially with people who have a phobia of spiders or  snakes. They used the pizza as a way to get over their fears.”

Sadly for Chef Ismail, health officials disagreed. “Medicinal products are not food stuffs and are not allowed to be an ingredient in food. Therefore we had to ban the pizzas,” they said. Chef Ismail previously hit the headlines by serving up pizzas topped with real gold flakes.
