Advice against travel to Cairo and Giza has been removed by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO).

The FCO no longer advises against all but essential travel for Greater Cairo, Cairo Governorate and the Giza Pyramids.

Advice against travel remains in place for the North Sinai region, while the South Sinai is under ‘all but essential travel’ except the Red Sea resorts.

Warnings were first put in place in July when violent protests took place across the country but these have been gradually lifted for parts of the country in the last few weeks.
