Capella Hotel Group has unveiled plans for a new “ultra-luxury” resort in Ubud, the cultural centre of Bali.
Set within a rural area of jungle and paddy fields, on the banks of the Wos River, the new Capella Ubud will offer 22 luxury tents designed by Bill Bensley. All units will feature private plunge pools and guests will be served by a Capella Personal Assistant.
Other facilities at the resort will include the Capella Library, a “canopied cistern pool”, a tented gymnasium and a spa. F&B offerings include a Robatayaki grill and garden dining.
“Inspired by early European settlers from the 1800s, Capella Ubud gives our discerning guests the chance to relive the spirit of adventure while enjoying the natural essence of Bali in luxurious comfort,” said Nicholas M. Clayton, CEO of Capella Hotel Group Asia.
Capella currently has one Asian property, located in Singapore. But the company is planning to expand across the region in the coming years, with Capella Shanghai set to open in spring 2017, Capella Ubud in autumn 2017 and Capella Bangkok in spring 2018.
