Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has signed a new Radisson hotel in South India.

The new Radisson Resort Hosur, in the state of Tamil Nadu, is expected to open in 2018. This signing adds to the company’s existing portfolio of 117 hotels either operating or under development in India, making Carlson Rezidor the biggest international hotel group in the country.

The company is targeting a portfolio of 170 Indian hotels by 2020.

“This latest signing underscores our commitment to strengthening the Radisson brand’s presence in India and demonstrates our focus on accelerating our growth in the emerging cities of South and West India,” said Raj Rana, Carlson Rezidor’s chief executive officer for South Asia.

Located on a 4.9-hectare site in the city of Hosur, the 120-room Radisson Resort Hosur will offer a large selection of upscale facilities, including a restaurant, gym, health club, spa, beauty salon, cricket pitch, badminton court, tennis court, golf academy and driving range.

For the MICE market the hotel will also feature a ballroom, several meeting rooms, boardrooms and a business centre.
