Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has made its market entry into Vietnam, with the signing management contract for a Radisson Blu resort near Nha Trang.
Schedule to open in the first quarter of 2019, the new-build Radisson Blu Cam Ranh Bay will be located on an 800-metre stretch of beach in Cam Ranh province, just 4km from the expanding Cam Ranh International Airport.
“As we grow across Asia Pacific, we are pleased to expand our footprint into Vietnam and into a segment that is currently underserved in the region,” said Thorsten Kirschke, Carlson Rezidor’s president for Asia Pacific. “This latest Radisson Blu flagship will provide international and domestic travellers with a full range of innovative design-led products and services.”
Once complete, Radisson Blu Cam Ranh Bay will offer 290 rooms and 40 villas, plus two restaurants, an outdoor swimming pool with pool bar, and extensive function space including a grand ballroom.
And the signing of this hotel is expected to mark the start of a major expansion for Carlson Rezidor in Vietnam, with the company saying it is “currently pursuing development opportunities” in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Danang, as well as considering plans for properties in Phu Quoc, Hue, Dalat, Quy Nhon, Mui Ne, Sapa, and Haiphong.
Carlson Rezidor currently operates 101 properties in the Asia Pacific region, including 44 Radisson Blu hotels.
