Cathay Pacific has expanded in Russia following a new partnership with S7 Airlines.
The new codeshare arrangement will enable Cathay to add three new destinations to its route map – St Petersburg, Vladivostok and Khabarovsk.
The airline currently operates three weekly flights between Hong Kong and Moscow, and from 3 July it will place its ‘CX’ code on S7’s daily service between Moscow and St Petersburg. It will also place its code on S7’s flights between Hong Kong and the eastern Russian cities of Khabarovsk and Vladivostok, which are served twice and three times a week respectively.
“This significantly broadens the travel opportunities to Russia for our customers, expanding trade and tourism in the process. We are pleased to be able to add this service through our oneworld partner, S7, which has grown to be one of Russia’s largest and most respected airlines. They have done this with a modern fleet and a very technology savvy approach to customer service,” said Cathay’s director of sales & marketing, Rupert Hogg.
As part of the agreement, S7 Airlines will place its ‘S7’ code on Cathay’s flights between Hong Kong and Moscow, as well as on services from Hong Kong to Bangkok and Singapore, and on Dragonair’s flights from Hong Kong to Chiang Mai.
Cathay Pacific and S7 Airlines are partners in the oneworld alliance.
