Cathay Pacific today unveiled its revamped First and Business Class Lounge at London Heathrow Airport.

The facility, which is located at Terminal 3, has now soft-opened following an extensive renovation. It will officially open its doors on 7 December.

Covering 1,200m², the new Heathrow lounge is 30% larger than its predecessor and features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the airport’s apron and runway.

The relaunch of the London lounge continues a major global project for Cathay, which has also seen recent lounge openings in Bangkok, Tokyo (Haneda), Manila, Taipei and Vancouver.

“At Cathay Pacific, we care about our passengers’ experience at every stage of their journey – from the moment they arrive at the airport until they reach their destination – and our exciting new Heathrow lounge was designed to enable our customers to travel well,” said the airline’s general manager for product, James Evans. “Our aim was to provide our passengers with a tranquil haven to relax before boarding their flights to Hong Kong and we hope our customers are as enthusiastic about the new lounge as we are.”

The Heathrow lounge is split into two areas for first and business class passengers, with first class F&B options including The Dining Room, which offers made-to-order dishes, and The Pantry, which serves as a “grab and go” area.

Business class dining includes Cathay’s signature Noodle Bar and The Food Hall, which offers international dishes.  There is also a full-service bar. Other amenities in the lounge include showers and a working area called The Bureau.

Cathay now operates five daily flights between Hong Kong and Heathrow, plus another direct service to London’s second airport, Gatwick. Including its Manchester flights, the airline now operates a total of 43 direct flights to the UK every week.
