Cathay Pacific has opened a new lounge at Vancouver International Airport.

Officially launched on 4 May, the new facility is located in the Canadian hub’s International Terminal. It replaces the previous Cathay Pacific First and Business Class Lounge at Vancouver, which has now closed.

Measuring 510m² and seating 108 people, the new lounge has been designed in the airline’s new contemporary style, which has already been rolled out at Cathay’s lounges in Hong Kong, Manila, Bangkok, Taipei and Tokyo Haneda airports.

Chairs are equipped with side tables that have in-built lamps and power sockets, while facilities include free Wi-Fi and three computer workstations with iMacs and printers. The lounge also features Cathay’s Noodle Bar concept, along with The Pantry which serves a selection of cold cuts, cheeses, salads, western food, fruits and desserts.

“We aim to offer the very best traveller experience when flying Cathay Pacific and we believe this spectacular new lounge is a reflection of how important this market is to the airline,” said Nick Hays, Cathay’s vice president for Canada.

“We hope our guests will enjoy taking in the iconic views of Vancouver’s coastal mountains as they say farewell to the city and use this space as a tranquil haven that sets the mood for their outbound flights to New York, Hong Kong, China or beyond to our global network.”

The new lounge is open to Cathay’s first and business class passengers and qualifying frequent flyers.
