Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) has launched flights between Manila and Phuket.

The low-cost carrier commenced services on the new route on 16 August 2013, becoming the first airline to fly to the Thai resort island direct from the Philippines.

Flights will now operate three times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays), departing Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) at 2000 and arriving in Phuket at 2300. The return flights depart Phuket International Airport at midnight, arriving back into Manila at 0535 the following day.

“We are proud to be the first airline to offer direct services between Manila and Phuket, so more travellers can visit Phuket’s world-famous beaches,” said CEB’s vice president of marketing & distribution, Candice Iyog. “Similarly, foreign tourists now have the option to add Manila to their itinerary, after they visit Phuket.”

Phuket becomes CEB’s second destination in Thailand, following Bangkok, and its 21st international port of call.
