Celebrity Cruises has announced that from next year guests with a taste for quality vintages will be able to bring out their inner wine connoisseur as the cruise line pairs itself with the acclaimed international TV series The Wine Show.
The Wine Show will bring these tales to Celebrity Cruises’ sailings, adding a new dimension for guests.
For those holidaying with the cruise line in 2017, the partnership also provides the opportunity to be joined by two of the show’s presenters on a series of The Wine Show cruises.
Wine expert, Amelia Singer will be on-board Celebrity Eclipse on the two-night ‘Taste of Modern Luxury’ sailing from 19 until 21 May 2017, hosting a series of talks and interactive demonstrations as it travels from Southampton to Le Havre. The wine duo will then be back on board Celebrity Cruises in the autumn, sharing their stories and helping guests savour the annual wine harvest.
Jo Rzymowska, managing director, Celebrity Cruises UK and Ireland, said: “Since The Wine Show premiered this summer, its combination of beautifully-shot footage and fascinating wine insights soon established it as one of the most inspiring programmes on our screens. We know our guests share our passion for food and wine so we’re extremely excited about how our new partnership will enhance our guests’ relationship with the destinations they visit.”
“We look forward to welcoming Joe and Amelia on board over the coming year and helping our wine enthusiasts and budding oenophiles tap into the exceptional knowledge that The Wine Show will add to our existing wine programme.”
Ross Westgate, executive producer of the Wine Show and CEO of Infinity Creative Media
‘’Since it’s UK premiere on ITV, The Wine Show has enabled viewers across the world, from the Americas to Australia, to enjoy an informative, visually entertaining and humorous journey into the world of wine. With their focus on quality, service and exceptional experience, it’s a journey that we are delighted to be able to share with Celebrity Cruises and its guests.”
The news adds further weight to Celebrity Cruises’ strong wine credentials, with the cruise specialist already offering the largest and rarest wine collection at sea. Guests can also enjoy Celebrity Cruises’ newest proprietary blend “Elegance” by Kendall-Jackson, available fleet-wide. Having won multiple awards for its approach to wine, Celebrity Cruises was the only ship-based winner to receive the coveted Wine Spectator ‘Award for Excellence’ for its wine lists this summer; a prestigious honour that it was awarded for the fourth successive year.
Also available fleet-wide by the end of 2016 will be Blendtique wine blending classes that will allow guests to become a vintner for the day, creating their very own wine blends that can be bottled onboard and customised with personalised wine labels.
