Centara Hotels & Resorts will further expand its portfolio in the Thai resort town of Pattaya in December, with the launch of another five-star Centara Grand-branded resort.

Following the recent launch of the Centara Grand Phratamnak Pattaya, the Thai hotelier is now planning to soft-open the Centara Grand Modus Resort Pattaya – a new beachfront property in the Wong Amat area of northern Pattaya – on 1 December 2013.

“We are really proud to be announcing the expansion of our five-star brand in Pattaya, and we feel we have one of the best possible locations in this exciting resort city,” said Thirayuth Chirathivat, CEO of Centara Hotels & Resorts.

“There are very few hotels in Pattaya that are directly on the beach, and we are confident that this factor together with the bold and creative design will help to make this a destination hotel in its own right.”

Centara Grand Modus Resort Pattaya will feature 231 rooms, including a range of direct pool access rooms. There is also a selection of one- and two-bedroom suites, plus family residences with children’s bunk beds and separate living rooms.

Facilities will include three swimming pools, spa, fitness centre, kids’ club and kids’ pool, plus two restaurants and a beach club.

“Centara Grand Modus Resort Pattaya is a resort with a personality and with a very distinguished look, not a typical or traditional resort,” said Chris Bailey, Centara’s senior vice president of sales & marketing. “It offers yet another five-star Centara experience in Pattaya, and given its beautiful setting in a small bay with no other hotel sharing the beach, we are very confident that we have an extremely attractive property for our guests.”

Centara now operates 42 properties in Thailand, including five in Pattaya.
