Centara Hotels & Resorts has officially opened its first resort in Sri Lanka.
Set between the Bentota River and the Indian Ocean on southwest coast of Sri Lanka, two hours’ drive from Colombo, Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa Sri Lanka is only accessible by a two-minute boat ride.
The property features 165 rooms and suites, including family residences, plus three F&B outlets, a spa, fitness centre, swimming pool, water sports centre and a kids’ club. It will also offer a range of indoor and outdoor event space, along with a business centre.
“The opening of this beautiful new resort, set in one of Sri Lanka’s most outstanding tourism destinations, is a proud moment for us,” said Thirayuth Chirathivat, CEO of Centara Hotels & Resorts.
“We view Sri Lanka as being of great potential for us, and the island is part of our strategy for developing our market in the Indian Ocean region.”
Centara now operates 67 properties, while Sri Lanka becomes the company’s 11th country following Thailand, the Maldives, Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Mauritius, Ethiopia, Qatar, Laos and Oman.
