Centara opens new Bangkok hotel
Centara has opened a new hotel in Bangkok.
Located in the city’s Pratunam fashion retail area, the new Centara Watergate Pavillion Hotel Bangkok forms part of the new Watergate Pavillion Fashion Mall, and becomes the company’s fourth property in the Thai capital.
“We are in the heart of Pratunam, and ideally placed for shoppers and business people in the fashion sector, and also for visitors to the entire Rajaprasong shopping district,” said Wim Fagel, the hotel’s general manager. “The station for the Airport Express rail link to Suvarnabhumi International Airport is a five-minute walk from the hotel, and for those visiting Bangkok for medical reasons, leading institutes such as Bumrungrad Hospital, Bangkok Hospital and Pyathai Hospital are all close by.”
Fagel added that the key source markets for the hotel are the Middle East, India, South Africa, Southeast Asia, Europe and Australia.
The property offers 218 rooms and suites, plus a restaurant that offers halal dishes for Muslim guests. Opening soon will be a 20th floor rooftop restaurant, offering views of the city. Other facilities include a spa, fitness centre, an outdoor relaxation area and two 90m² meeting rooms.
Bangkok-based Centara now has 40 properties in Thailand and a further 17 international hotels and resorts.
