Centara Hotels & Resorts has rebranded a beachfront property in Rayong, eastern Thailand.

The hotel has been rebadged as the Centara Sappaya Design Resort Rayong, in an effort to reflect the building’s contemporary, design-led architecture.

“This is a very distinctive property which offers a highly individual experience more akin to residential accommodation,” said Suthikiati Chirathivat, Chairman of Central Plaza Hotel. “We feel that rebranding the resort in this way will enhance its appeal to those who appreciate fine design as part of a luxury lifestyle, whether they are independent travellers, couples, families, or the corporate market, all of whom will find this a very suitable setting.”

Located on the secluded beach of Laem Mae Phim in Rayong, the Centara Sappaya Design Resort Rayong currently features just 13 accommodation units, but a THB70 million (US$2.3 million) investment will add another 30 rooms, a Spa Cenvaree, fitness centre and another restaurant. This development is expected to be completed by 2014. Existing facilities include a swimming pool and a seafront restaurant.

The property now falls under the Centara’s five-star Centara Hotels & Resorts brand.
