Centara Sappaya Design Resort, Rayong, is to undergo full renovation and benefit from the construction of a new eight-storey building, starting 6 May 2013. This will allow for 30 new rooms to be added to the resort, plus a new spa, fitness centre, all-day restaurant, meeting room and remodelled lobby. The hotel is projected to reopen in November 2014.
The resort, located on the beachfront in rural Rayong, is currently the smallest of the Centara Hotels & Resorts properties. The eight-storey extension will give the resort a total of 42 rooms, of which 12 will be of Superior category, 26 will be Deluxe, and four will be Spa Deluxe.
All rooms will have a balcony and a view across the bay, and each will feature a three-piece bathroom. The new Spa Cenvaree will consist of two couple’s treatment rooms and two single treatment rooms, each with shower and toilet. A new 80sqm meeting room will hold 30 delegates in a classroom configuration.
“This part of Rayong is emerging as a high quality destination in which the natural surroundings are the main attraction,” said Chris Bailey, senior vice president for sales and marketing at Centara Hotels & Resorts. “We have enjoyed great success with Centara Sappaya, and feel that the property can be extended without changing the exclusive residential ambiance.”
