Centara Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to expand its presence in Krabi, with the addition of fourth property in the Thai province.
The Thai hotel group has signed a management agreement for the new Centra Phu Pano Resort, which is expected to open in mid-2016. This will mark the entry of Centara’s midscale Centra brand into Krabi.
“Centara has a strategic expansion plan for the south of Thailand, with currently three different brands across the region to cater for specific market segments,” explained Chris Bailey, Centara’s senior vice president for sales & marketing. “Opening a new resort in Krabi gives us extra strength in the southern Thailand market, and extends our range in the value sector.”
Located in the main resort area of Ao Nang, Centra Phu Pano Resort will have 158 rooms, including a series of family units. Facilities will include a restaurant, swimming pool, children’s pool, fitness centre and a meeting room.
Centara now operates a portfolio of 48 hotels and resorts in Thailand, including a trio of properties in Krabi – Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krabi, Centara Anda Dhevi Resort & Spa and Centara Pelican Bay Residence & Suites.
