Centara Hotels & Resorts has unveiled plans for two more hotels in Pattaya, as it continues to expand in the Thai resort town.

The upscale Centara Avenue Hotel Pattaya and midscale Centra Avenue Hotel Pattaya are both scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2014, as part of the same city centre development. The hotels will share the same management and facilities.

The two new properties extend Centara’s position as the biggest hotel operator in Pattaya, taking its total citywide portfolio to eight hotels either operating or under construction. Centara Avenue Hotel will have 96 rooms, while Centra Avenue Hotel will have 51 rooms.

“Pattaya is a destination of great importance and potential to us, and we are delighted to announce the opening of two new hotels in the central district of the city,” said Thirayuth Chirathivat, Centara’s CEO.

“This is an ideal location for our core ‘Hotels & Resorts’ brand, and we are confident that our facilities and location will attract both international and Thai guests. We are also very proud of the fact that this new development sees the introduction of our value Centra brand to Pattaya.”

Centara Avenue Hotel Pattaya becomes Centara’s second upscale property in Pattaya, following the Centara Hotel Pattaya, while the Centra Avenue Hotel Pattaya will mark the debut of the Centra brand in the city. The company also operates the Nova Hotel & Spa Pattaya, under its Centara Boutique Collection, and four luxury Centara Grand properties, one of which is under construction in the Jomtiem area of the city.

“The two new hotels give us a great strategic advantage in Pattaya, extending our very popular four-star range and adding to this our high-quality three-star value range,” said Chris Bailey, the company’s senior vice president for sales & marketing. “We now have a broad spectrum of the large and diverse Pattaya market covered, along with a very wide geographical spread.”

Centara Avenue Hotel will be medium-rise hotel set around a large freeform swimming pool with waterslide. Centra Avenue Hotel Pattaya meanwhile, will be set in an eight-storey wing of the complex and will have its own pool and fitness centre.

Centara now operates 47 properties across Thailand, along with a further 20 international hotels and resorts in the Maldives, Vietnam, Bali, China, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Ethiopia, Qatar, Laos and Oman.
