Centara Hotels & Resorts is expanding its presence in southern Thailand with the signing of its first property in Khao Lak.
The deal will see the current Khao Lak Seaview Resort & Spa rebranded as the Centara Seaview Resort Khao Lak this summer. A renovation programme is already underway that will see it upgraded to Centara’s four-star standards.
“We are very proud to be announcing the addition of this magnificent property to our portfolio,” said Thirayuth Chirathivat, CEO of Centara Hotels & Resorts. “This is our first property in Khao Lak, a destination that we see as very strategic for our further growth in Southern Thailand. We currently have seven properties in Phuket and two in Krabi, and further expansion will be announced in the near future for both the Andaman coast and the Gulf of Thailand.”
Located at Nang Thong Beach the 218-room property has an extensive stretch of beachfront and facilities including a restaurant, spa and meeting space able to hold up to 600 people.
The resort is about one hour’s drive from Phuket International Airport.
