Centara to debut in Sri Lanka
Centara Hotels & Resorts will open its first two properties in Sri Lanka later this year.
The Centara Passikudah Resort & Spa Sri Lanka and Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa will be operated under management contracts from the second half of the year, in time for the country’s high season.
Located on the beachfront at the resort town of Passikudah on Sri Lanka’s east coast, the 126-room Centara Passikudah Resort & Spa Sri Lanka will feature a range of rooms and suites, including family residences, as well as two restaurants, a bar, spa, fitness centre, kids’ club and a 150-pax capacity ballroom.
The 166-room Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa meanwhile, is sandwiched between the Indian Ocean and Bentota River, on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast. The hotel’s F&B options include a restaurant and tea lounge, along with dinner cruises on the Bentota River, while resort facilities include a spa with six treatment rooms.
“These two superb hotels mark our debut in Sri Lanka, a market that we feel holds great promise for us,” said Centara’s CEO, Thirayuth Chirathivat. “They are an important stage in our development strategy for the Indian Ocean.”
