Centara Hotels & Resorts has signed a management contract for its first resort in Mauritius. The new property, which is owned by Indian Ocean Real Estate Company Ltd (IOREC), is expected to open October 2012, and will mark a new stage of Thailand-based Centara’s international expansion. The company recently announced plans to launch in Vietnam, adding to its existing international presence in the Philippines, Egypt, India and the Maldives.

Gerd Steeb, President of Centara Hotels & Resorts, said; “Centara is delighted to be entering the Mauritius resort market. We identified a gap in the market for a quality four-star beachfront family friendly resort offering a choice of half-board or all-inclusive stays blended with our unique version of Thai hospitality, world renowned for exceptional service – this resort will truly deliver a unique and appealing experience.

Entering the Mauritius hospitality market is a perfect addition to our expansion plans as will immediately tap our core source markets from around the world.”
