Centara Hotels & Resorts will open the first property in its Centara Boutique Collection brand in Chiang Mai. The 76-room Siripanna Villa Resort Chiang Mai, Centara Boutique Collection will be located adjacent to the Gymkhana Golf Course, 6km from Chiang Mai International Airport. The property is due to open in September 2009.
Centara Hotels & Resorts’ President, Gerd Steeb, said that the launch of the Centara Boutique Collection brand is part of the group’s strategy to expand and diversify in Thailand and internationally.
“Our Boutique Collection properties aim to provide high-quality personal service in a setting that is on a more intimate scale than the other brands within the group,” Steeb said. “Typically, the hotel will have between 70 and 100 rooms, with a high proportion of the rooms being premium accommodation. We shall have both city and resort properties, with prime locations in each case.”
He added that the group’s growth strategy will see it grow from 23 properties at present to 65 within the next five years, both in Thailand and overseas.
