Centara Hotels & Resorts has announced that its second property in the Thai beach resort of Krabi will soft-open in September. Centara Anda Dhevi Resort & Spa Krabi is a newly built four-star property spread across five low-rise buildings in the Ao Nang area of the southern province. It sits 100 metres from the sands of Nopparat Thara Beach, as well as being close to the centre of Ao Nang town.

Centara signed a management contract for the property with Anda Dhevi Resort and Spa Company Limited in January 2011.

“We are very proud that Dr Pornsak Tantapakul, owner of Anda Dhevi Resort and Spa Company Limited, has awarded us the management contract for this beautiful property, which represents an investment of THB350 million (US$11.5 million),” said Suthikiati Chirathivat, Chairman of the Executive Board, Central Plaza Hotel Public Company Limited. “This is a significant move in our strategic growth programme of acquiring high-quality new properties through management contracts.”

Chris Bailey, Centara Hotels & Resorts’ Senior Vice President for Sales & Marketing added that although the new resort is situated near to the Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krabi, located at Pai Plong Bay, the two resort would not be competing for the same market.

“The two resorts in fact represent two different segments of the tourism market, and consequently they complement each other,” he said. “We now cover a broader range in the increasingly popular resort of Krabi, and this makes us stronger in Southern Thailand.”

The new resort offers 135 rooms and suites, including 72 Deluxe Garden View rooms ranging in size from 36 to 40sqm, 50 Deluxe Pool View rooms at 42sqm, one Family Suite Pool View at 83sqm, 11 Deluxe Pool Access rooms at 46sqm, and one Honeymoon Suite Pool Access room at 92sqm. All rooms have a balcony or terrace.

The Palm court is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant serving Thai and international cuisines, and the Lobby Bar and Lounge will offer hot and cold snacks and drinks. Leisure facilities include a 43-metre swimming pool with waterslides and swim-up bar, a children’s pool, kids’ club, fitness centre and a SPA Cenvaree. The resort also features two meeting rooms, with a combined capacity of 280 people.
