Centara’s resort in the eastern Thai island of Koh Chang is being upgraded and rebranded.

The property, which is currently called the Koh Chang Tropicana Beach Resort & Spa managed by Centara, is undergoing a major renovation and will be rebadged as the Centara Koh Chang Tropicana Resort next month.

Bangkok-based Centara acquired the resort’s management contract in April of this year.

“We are delighted to have added this exceptionally fine resort to our management portfolio, and look forward now to the completion of this very extensive upgrading programme and the rebranding of the property,” said Thirayuth Chirathivat, CEO of Centara Hotels & Resorts.

The upgrade will encompass several areas of the resort, including the entrance, lobby and reception, and will see the creation of a new lobby bar. The Sea Breeze restaurant will also be renovated, as will the existing spa, which will be rebranded as a Spa Cenvaree – Centara’s signature wellness brand.

In an effort to make the resort more family-friendly, Centara is also adding a new kids’ club and adventure playground, while a waterslide is being added to the pool.

All 157 rooms and suites will have complimentary Wi-Fi following the rebranding.
