EVA Air, Taiwan’s flagship independent airline, will launch daily non-stop flights between Taipei and Chiang Mai this summer.

Starting on 1 July 2018, EVA Air will serve the route with an Airbus A321-200, configured in Business and Economy Classes for 184 passengers.

The Chiang Mai arrival times are early enough in the day so travellers will have more time to wander and do some extra sightseeing in the region.

While the return flights to Taipei are scheduled so passengers can make one-stop connections to all of the major cities EVA Air serves in North America, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Chicago, Seattle, Vancouver, Toronto and New York.

With connections through Taipei, the new route will give passengers on EVA Air’s 82 weekly flights from North America more convenient access to Chiang Mai, Thailand’s largest city in the mountainous north.

The city was selected as one of the 25 Best Destinations in the world by TripAdvisor because of its rich history, cultural attractions and laid-back atmosphere, and listed in the Top 10 Best Cities worldwide by Travel + Leisure.

In addition, UNESCO recently designated Chiang Mai as a Creative City for its crafts and folk art, while its surrounding natural beauty continues to attract tourists who want to explore its landscape and wildlife.

EVA Air Corporation, based out of Taoyuan International Airport near Taipei, operates passenger and cargo services to over 60 international destinations using the Airbus A330, Airbus A321, and Boeing 777 airliners primarily used on passenger routes.

EVA Air launched the industry’s first premium economy cabin in 1992. Named Elite Class, this cabin was voted Best Premium Economy in an annual SKYTRAX poll. SKYTRAX’s annual World Airline Awards have rated EVA Air as one of the World’s Top-10 Best Airlines and No. 1 for Cleanest Cabins multiple times, including in its 2017 awards.
