China Eastern Airlines has doubled the frequency of its Shanghai-Vancouver service from one to two flights per day.
The expanded operation, which got underway on Saturday (20 July 2013), will mean China Eastern now offers daytime and night-time service from Shanghai, departing the city’s Pudong International Airport at 1330 and 2350. The return services leave Vancouver at 1320 and 0130.
Both daily flights will be operated using an Airbus A330-200 aircraft with 30 seats in business class and 200 in economy.
“China Eastern Airlines is delighted to extend its service between Vancouver and Shanghai, which will connect up to 204,000 travellers between these destinations in 2013 alone,” said Margaret Meng, China Eastern’s general manager for Canada.
“We respect and value the Canadian market and have worked hard to provide good value for our customers, by investing in new aircraft on the YVR-PVG route, upgrading onboard services and even redesigning our cabin crew uniforms.”
Vancouver is one of four mainland North American destinations China Eastern flies to, along with New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
