Indonesian low-cost carrier Citilink has launched a new ‘check through’ system for passengers connecting between its flights.
Effective this month, the system will enable passengers to check-in just once for multiple flight sectors, with baggage also being checked through to the final destination.
“Citilinkers will fly with us more comfortably to the final destination and we look forward to expanding more flights and city destinations. This innovation is our commitment in increasing our level of service,” said Citilink’s CEO, Arif Wibowo.
Upon check-in for the first flight, Citilink passengers will receive two boarding passes and a baggage tag number. Then, when changing aircraft, passengers need not check-in for the second flight.
The service initially applies to 13 Citilink routes operating via Jakarta or Surabaya, including Medan-Jakarta-Surabaya, Medan-Jakarta-Bali, Lombok-Jakarta-Surabaya and Pekanbaru-Surabaya-Bali.
Citilink, which is the low-cost subsidiary of Garuda Indonesia, operates 21 domestic routes using its fleet of 22 Airbus A320 aircraft.
