CLIA’s president and CEO Christine Duffy is to speak at Columbus Day this September.
Duffy will be making her first UK appearance since the global cruise association was created and first joined CLIA in 2011. During the one-day event she will speak about the cruise industry from an international perspective; CLIA’s role and the challenges the industry faces.
MSC Cruises’ corporate operating officer Neil Palomba will also take to the stage to talk about the Mediterranean as a cruise destination and how the industry is adapting to its popularity.
“We have such a great line up of speakers at this year’s event covering many different, but key, topics. We are delighted that Christine will be bringing a global perspective to an industry which each year attracts more than 20 million passengers worldwide and which offers huge potential for continued growth,” said Andy Harmer, CLIA’s UK and Ireland director.
Previous speakers already announced include cruise line presidents Michael Bayley of Celebrity Cruises and Silversea’s Steve Odell, alongside entrepreneur Jo Malone; author Mike Southon and Mail Newspapers’ Guy Zitter.
More than 400 delegates are expected to attend Columbus Day on 19 September in Liverpool.
