CLIA president Christine Duffy christened the new 164-guest AmaCerto last week, the newest addition to the AmaWaterways fleet.
The pier-side ceremony was held in Vilshofen, Germany and Duffy was joined by Ama’s president and CEO Rudi Schreiner, the company’s executive vice president Kristin Karst and dignitaries from the river town in the district of Passau.
“I am thrilled and excited to be here in Vilshofen today and so proud and honoured to be the godmother for this ship,” said Duffy at the ceremony.
The new ship features twin balconies, multiple dining venues, a heated pool with a swim-up bar, a fitness center and ship-wide WiFi and Internet access. The new ship will offer 11, 12, 14 and 16-day Danube cruises through to Christmas Eve featuring port calls in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Holland, Hungary and Slovakia.
