French luxury operator Compagnie du Ponant has appointed Herve Bellaiche as executive vice president sales.
The position, which will also see Bellaiche become a member of Ponant’s board of directors, is designed specifically to develop business worldwide – with a focus on the US, Europe and Asia.
“I am very excited about this move to the luxury cruise sector and particularly to join Compagnie du Ponant, the only French cruise line,” he explained. “We have big ambitions to develop the business, especially outside France and to spread our famous French touch and lifestyle. This also requires some restructuring on our part. Having a mixed profile like mine joining the company, as a business developer with a structured engineering background, will facilitate the transition into this new phase of international expansion and structuring the company.”
Bellaiche joins Ponant with international experience, including stints in South Korea for the construction of High Speed Rail and at AT Kearney as a business developer and advisor. His most recent position was as head of business development for Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
