Cost control remains the top priority for corporate travel managers in 2014, a new report has revealed.
According to Carlson Wagonlit Travel’s (CWT) sixth annual ‘Travel Management Priorities’ report, 70% of respondents said that ‘finding innovative ways to generate savings’ was their highest business priority for this year.
‘Driving growth in online adoption’ was second with 55% of the vote, followed by ‘optimising end-to-end travel processes’ (54%).
“Identifying savings is still the top priority for travel managers across the globe,” said David Moran, CWT’s executive vice president of global marketing & enterprise strategy. “However, the greater focus on traveller experience marks a fresh, positive chapter for the industry. We’re working on new, innovative ways to help travel managers achieve their money-saving objectives.”
The results were broadly similar in the Asia Pacific region, where 73% of respondents said they wanted to find new ways to generate savings, while 63% want end-to-end travel processes and 55% want to boost online adoption.
The CWT survey was based on the opinions of 970 travel managers worldwide.
