Cox & Kings has sold its entire stake in its adventure travel business, Explore Worldwide.
The GBP25.8 million (approx. US$39m) deal will see Hotelplan UK Group acquire Explore Worldwide and all of its brands, including Explore, the soft adventure tour operator, and RegalDive, the diving specialist.
Peter Kerkar, director of Cox & Kings, said the divestment would help his company focus on its “three key verticals – leisure, education and hybrid hotels”.
Headquartered in India, Cox & Kings operates a series of travel brands including Superbreak, PGL and NST. It also operates 16 European hotels under the Meininger brand.
Established in 1981, Explore Worldwide currently offers approximately 450 adventure travel itineraries in more than 120 countries.
