Crystal Cruises will significantly expand its range of offerings in the Asia Pacific region next year.
The ultra-luxury cruise line revealed details of its 2014 Asian itineraries on Friday (19 July 2013), with two ships combining to offer 34 voyages across the region. This marks a 750% jump from the four Asian voyages offered by the company in 2012.
In 2014, the 922-passenger Crystal Symphony and 1,070-passenger Crystal Serenity will both be based in Asian waters, sailing a series of five- to 29-day voyages to ports in China, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei.
Brand new routes will include Crystal’s first-ever cruises beginning and ending Bangkok, while new destinations will include Lombok, Makassar and Surabaya, as the company expands its operations in Indonesia. Other ports of call in the country include Bali, Jakarta and Komodo Island.
“The 2014 Asia collection offers a feast of new choices for guests,” says Jack Anderson, Crystal’s senior vice president of marketing & sales, adding that with the early bird promotions on offer, “some cruises are priced less than those in 2013”.
Crystal will also be offering a comprehensive programme in Northeast Asia, with itineraries exploring both Japan and China, such as Crystal Symphony’s Beijing-Tokyo voyage, calling at Osaka, Nagasaki, Shanghai and Dalian. There will also be a special Christmas and New Year voyage to Hong Kong.
Every 2014 Crystal voyage in Asia features at least two overnight stays, with stopover destinations including Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, Yangon and Shanghai.
