Crystal Cruises has revealed that it will be adding twelve itineraries to its single travellers’ programme, a deal where the line makes it easier for those cruising alone.
The ‘Sole Occupancy’ scheme sees travellers pay a 10% single supplement for a deluxe stateroom. The saving is now available on 26 cruises in 2013 on both of Crystal Cruises ships – the Serenity and Symphony.
Ray Steward, Cruise Portfolio director of sales and marketing told Cruise News: “We are seeing more and more solo travellers cruising with us and this seems to be representative of how the solo traveller is not only more comfortable travelling alone but also seeking more adventurous holidays. That said, the advantages that a Crystal cruise offers to single holidaymakers are obvious, such as like minded fellow travellers, entertainment programmes to suit every taste, our creative learning institute and of course our renowned Ambassador hosts who are happy to socialise and dance the night away!”
Philip Ordever, vice president international sales & marketing added: “Crystal has always had one of the lowest supplement rates for sole occupancy of a double stateroom, and, thus, have always had a high number of ‘solo’ guests—who have especially responded to this promotion. By opening up these savings on even more cruises, we’re sure to welcome even more independent travellers into the Crystal family, be it those travelling alone who appreciate our on-board warmth and camaraderie, or groups travelling together wherein everyone wants the comfort and privacy of their own stateroom.”
The announcement comes shortly after P&O Cruises revealed it was refurbishing most of its fleet to include accommodation for single travellers.
The ‘Sole Occupancy’ rate will be available on cruises covering the Mediterranean, Baltic, South America/Caribbean, Western Europe, Black Sea, North Cape, British Isles, eastern Canada and Trans-Ocean. The deal will only cover cruises between seven and 18-days between June and December.
Crystal Cruises can provide accommodation up to eight solo travellers who will be looked after by an ‘Ambassador Host’ and all seated together at the ‘Table for 8’ for dinner.
