Crystal Cruises luxury liner, Crystal Symphony, has completed a two-week makeover.

The latest work, which revamped several lounges and F&B venues, marks the culmination of a US$65 million, five-year plan to redesign part of the ship.

The drydock work saw the renovation of the ship’s Palm Court lounge, with new seating, bar and dancefloor, while the Avenue Saloon and Piano Bar has also been refurbished with increased seating areas. The ship’s live performance area, the Galaxy Lounge, has been given a new contemporary look with glass doors, marble flooring and large LCD digital signage screens at the entrance, while a stage extension has expanded performance space by 30%.

The ships children’s areas, Waves and Fantasia, have also been re-designed with the addition of Wii, PlayStation, Xbox, Kinect games consoles, as well as two wide-screen TVs, Blu-ray players and a movie projection system.

Following the drydock, Crystal Symphony will be sailing a series of Baltic and Northern Europe cruises this summer.

“In keeping with our tremendous focus on design, we wanted to create something both highly contemporary and yet extremely accessible,” said Crystal’s President Gregg Michel. “The ultimate result is all our guests’ favorite gathering places now feeling even more welcoming, while also offering the stylish sophistication and comfortable elegance luxury travelers look for in a vacation setting, and expect from Crystal.”
