The act of trying to be different has landed SpiceJet into some serious issues with the DGCA. Recent news suggest that the airline has received a show cause notice including suspension of two of its pilots.
In response to the queries arising from the video, the airline is of the opinion that the 2.5 minute dance was done in celebration of Holi. Extra crew were deployed across 17 flights. A SpiceJet offical was quoted on NDTV stating that “The dance was professionally choreographed and was Holi delight for passengers much like it is done by several airlines around the world to celebrate a special occasion.”
